Our Beloved Roomate. . .

Yes, another roommate update. L, bless her heart, was looking at the SLC temple hanging up downstairs. As she was looking, she asked her boyfriend/fiance if when they remodeled the tabernacle if "they got rid of the ugly dome thing." I wanted to interrupt her "innocently bad question" (I'm trying to be more nice and not say mean things. . .words are gifts) and honestly give her a lesson on how AMAZING that building is even if it is "ugly." I was good and nicely whispered to her bf that she was talking about the tabernacle (he had no clue what she was talking about) and that they didn't get rid of the dome, but covered it with metal sheeting and reinforced the structure. She thought that it was actually part of the temple. I had a nice little giggle in my room. :D

new things

Our roomie AB is moving out to live in the apartment she will share with her husband when they get married. She is graciously leaving the towel, bathroom rug, and shower curtain liner (it is nice but I want to hang my towel on the towel rack. . . Once she is gone I think I will. It is nice to have a towel but one that no one uses. . .for decoration. . .it is nice in theory.

Unfortunately I need to go to the dollar store now to buy shower curtain rings. . .dollar store rings, cheap, don't care if they break cause I'm leaving the liner in the bathroom when I leave, and the dollar store by albertsons is now open. . .close close close!!!! If I want to shower tomorrow I need to buy them today. YAY!!! good thing I have a dollar in quarters!

I'm gonna miss the microwave and the toaster! the toaster especially since I love to have warm crisp bagels with pb & j.

IKEA

yes, been there done that. The fam went yesterday and it was AWESOME! There were alot of people though and that was the bummer. I did buy stuff though.

I was told by a co-worker that she and her husband that they were going to wait until the novelty wore off. I had to explain that it wasn't a novelty for my family, that every time we are in Cali and there is an Ikea in the area we go. It was really quite funny, cause after she was like oh.

It is AWESOME. . .can't wait til I have my own place and can purchase my own couch. . .I found one I love.

I am astonished!!!!

This morning I was in the other room putting lotion on and when my mom came in and said "Is your birthday on the 20th or 21st (of June)?" My jaw dropped. . .literally. Then she proceeded to tell me that Dad says its on the 21st and she says its the 20th. After I told her the 20th and continued to be appalled she said, "Don't act so surprised." (What, can't they remember the youngest of their 2 daughters is the 20th. There is only TWO of us!!!!!)

So I said, "Mom, there's only TWO of us!" Then she walked off to inform dad that it is actually the 20th.

It is kind of funny though. . .something that I can laugh at.

Things you might think would be funny in church but. . .

At work The Mormon Tabernacle Enquirer came in the other day and liza and I have been having fun with it. It is written by the Sugar Beet People.

I have to share this article. . .

"Things that seem like they would be funny, but are not"

~Using grilled cheese sandwhiches for the sacrament
~Slipping into the Relief Society room and loudly telling any random old lady that you found her diaphragm
~Solemly appointing High Priests to be captains of fifty for the march to Jackson County
~Sending a letter to all the laurels saying they can wear what ever they want to girls' camp
~Telling the priests they can serve as priesthood chaperones at girls' camp
~Standing to bear your testimony and then falling to the groung and wrestling with an unseen demon
~Telling the nursery leader that, like an apostle, her calling is for life
~Tie-dyeing your garments
~Telling the choir director to inclued a drum solo in the next Easter program
~Whispering to that pimply-faced deacon that you know the real reason he had to get glasses (honestly I don't understand this one)
and last but not least
~Dumping your fiancee because she's not physically fit enough to make the walk to Missouri

16 cent tomatoes

I went to wal-mart tonight and bought some food to hold me over 'til payday and yes that included one tomato costing 16 cents. . .hee hee hee. Also I found sugar free cinnamon rolls. . . YUMMIE!!!!! I have to say that I was extremely doubtful about the imagined goodness on the flashy package but gosh dang it, I had been craving cinnamon rolls. Glad I did!

My last post said something about cutting my hair off. I go through these spurts and want to cut it off, but secretly I really want longer hair again. I'm just letting it go, first of all because I really have no moolah to pay for a cut and secondly it is getting long enough to put hair things in and THAT makes me EXCITED!!!!!! :D I know, I'm a dork.

Tonight I *should have* cleaned my room, gone through a book that is over due, filled out my fasfa (I need money for school. . .any one want to donate to my charitable fund?) **Not tax deductable, sorry hee hee. I did exercise though.

The FORCED fireside and other various things

Okay, so I voluntarily went to the CES fireside, and it was great. President Faust is a WONDERFULLY FUNNY sweet little old man. A spiritual giant trapped in an aging body. That fireside was AWESOME! The tute in BC decided that they would invite the tute choir from Logan to put on another fireside after that. . .It turned out to be immediately after that, no stand up and stretch or anything like that (and Stumpy needed that!!). My behind HURT!!!! I was stuck next to the wall on a bench with 3 other girls I didn't know. The people in charge stood up and said brothers and sisters sit down. GRRR!!!! So a fireside that let out early (President Faust believes in short meetings). . .almost 30 minutes lasted until almost 8:30 when I got home. . .there were people that I needed to talk to since I hadn't seen them. GAH!!!!!!

The various other things. . .well it turns out that it will only be another thing. I think I am going to chop off my hair again. . .I did it today (curled) and it looked cute, but I like it short. . .and I noticed a lot of mid-length and longer hair. . .It looks nice, but I am lazy. Other reasons. . . I don't want to look like every other girl. I think the main reason is that I don't want to cater to boys and how some of them love longer hair. It is probably just my rebellious stage cause I realized today that I am not ready to get married and have a family. . .not prepared is the main thing. Sometimes I am unhappy about this but I am not ready. So I might chop the hair that I have off again. . .

Car Alarms

Apparently, my clicker for my car works up in my room when I'm parked in the drive way. Wanna know how I know? I accidentally hit the panic button while in my room. Random!! WOW! Talk about long range!

In other news, today at the gym I saw Michael from my old job!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so nice to see him! Random too!

I've noticed. . .once again

This is really quite random, but I have noticed it. The spirit dwelling in a house makes it a home, and you feel safe there even if it isn't your home. I have come to that realization tonight, the part about the house and home. I use to be doubtful that I could feel the spirit and discern when it left, but I have realized that living in Utah and being surrounded by mostly members of the church it is there quite often. I had the opportunity to go to a non-member's house tonight and I realized this. Also the spirit makes things brighter, maybe warmer and happier. . . I don't know how but it does.
