This year I am really into resolutions. The fact that I will actually be writing down my goals actually means something. Means I plan to keep them! The other thing is that I will only be making 4 instead of the long unmanageable lists that I have made in years past.
1. Follow a plan for eating healthy.
I have been attending therapy and my therapist suggested a book for me to read. It really was a great answer to prayers on a way to eat healthy using the word of wisdom as my food guide. The book is called Lean & Free 2000 by Dana Thornock. To start out I am going to use her five fingers method of eating right since some of the other things she writes about doing seem overwhelming right now. Five things at each meal water, protein, veggies, grain, & fruit (the veggies aren't required at breakfast).
2. Exercise for 30 minutes 6 days a week.
I will probably have to work up to this but it will be worth it in the long run. I plan to start by taking a class. . .thank goodness for free classes from the university. I use to be big into weight lifting in high school and want get back into it so I am taking a 2 day a week class. I plan to either swim, walk, or participate in any other aerobic activity. I am going to join a gym so I can swim since it will be easier on my body.
3. Stick to a financial plan.
I had a cash only system going really well and then I began to use my debit card. . .no good. I liked the cash system and have had thoughts of getting rid of my debit card completely. I am going to begin the cash system again since it is so much easier to control spending when there is nothing left in an envelope. It feels GREAT to know where your money is going.
4. Morning Prayer & Scripture study
I am going to get up at 6 am and study the scriptures for a half hour each morning. My day goes so much better after study and praying.
I know that some of these goals are going to be difficult, but I KNOW that my life will improve through the effort made to meet these goals.

love that book. i should read it again ...
i'm not even finished with it and I already know I want to keep to it. I would recommend that book to anyone who wanted to lose weight and feel healthy and not cut out food groups.
