Case of the missing plates

Okay, this is more for CC, so I don't interrupt her tonight. . .hope she reads it! ;) A asked me yesterday if I knew where the rest of "her" plates went. I was like what? She explained that she was "missing" plates and that she had to wash plates for her dinner night. You know. . .they have pink around the rim? I told her that I didn't know where her plates were. I said nothing about your's though. I really don't know how many she has but I'm pretty sure that they are in their fridge. You know. . .like my pan was that no one "knew" where it was.
Tonight L asked me if I knew where all the other plates are. I was like yeah A said there are plates missing but I don't know where they are. I do have to say that I don't know where you put your plates. . .can't see them and ain't going to go looking. . . hee hee.

Did I mention that my sister is the MOST AWESOME designer EVER? She is. She is going to come back with a job, I just know it!

Stumpy

The library is remodeling the room next to us. . .and there are new chairs that they got as "back ups" for when they have activities the the room. I sat down on one today to see if they were comfortable but promptly got back up. . .IT HURT to sit on! Hear me library admin. these chairs SUCK! (did I mention that they are also ugly and clash with the carpet?) When I sat down my boss was in the room and I said something about the chair hurting to sit on. So as I got up my boss said, "Oh, it hurt Stumpy?" (inside joke. . .that is what I call my butt now since I don't have the end of my tailbone anymore) I said, "Yeah, it hurts Stumpy," and gave her a puppy dog look. Then she said "I'm sorry." Then I said these chairs are no good. . .I don't like them. . . (personally I think they should be SENT BACK to where they came from. . .is there a store called Hell Seats? Cause they are. . .the armrests are very rough, like sandpaper. . .we now have in-house exfoliators. . .

Check that off of my list (well, almost)

I am just taking a break from my homework. I am almost done with transcribing an oral history, I just have to type it up. . .my right hand and arm REALLY hurts. . .6.5 pages of hand written tediously transcribed interview. I think I might type it later and work on something that does not use my hands. I have been working on it since approximately 5 pm and it is nearly 7. I don't feel so discouraged though, which is a really nice feeling.

FYI: Today was SO much better than yesterday. I was on a downhill slide emotionally and spiritually and I couldn't stop it. . .So much better. . .happy today.

Okay, so the last post was uncalled for. . .but it was truly how I felt!

CD called me back and we played phone tag because I didn't hear my phone ring and obviously he didn't when I called back.

He called me while I was at work today. . .good thing my phone was on vibrate. . . I went to answer it and it was like I was IN the zoo, you know the special limited time only exhibit of CUPCAKE, only comes once in a life time to your zoo so you better go see it!! My boss and liza were BOTH watching me. Come on a little privacy please? No, not in Special Collections! When I became aware of this I headed for the stacks where they DID NOT follow. Thank goodness!!! I had asked if he would like to go on a picnic. He told me that he wanted to take me out to dinner. YAY!!! So after I got off the phone I did my happy dance. . .but had to stop. . .not properly clothed around a certain area. . . hee hee hee. So yeah.

So. . .yeah. . .um. . . I do crazy things with out thinking sometimes.

So. . .I have gone crazy and have decided not to think. . .some times it isn't the greatest thing in the world others it is wonderful.

In Sacrament meeting *had* the opportunity to sit by CD but didn't because I didn't know if I should and my stuff was all ready sitting on a bench. So I didn't but I REALLY wanted to. I didn't do it cause I was thinking.

Today they announced that there is no FHE tomorrow. Sad day!! So once they announced it I started formulating a plan. . .which plan is yet to be finished. I'm hoping that it will be positive. I am waiting for a phone call. I don't want to stay home alone on Monday so I thought I would ask CD out. . .that is really as far as I have gotten. . .see what I have done? Not thinking!!! But we could go for a picnic. . . or something. . . I am really freaking out that he is going to call back and say no or can we just be friends or something random like that, or not call back at all.

Awesome Tacos!

The tacos last night were fabulous.
Most of the conversation was great. . .aside from the few questionable parts. . .including over used basketball comments (not the story Kip). I feel sorry that I didn't get to talk to Adkins very much but am glad she had fun anyway.

I did get to talk to CD and it was wonderful. I don't know. He is just an all around great guy that I am trying to get to know better. We talked about his mom who died of cancer in 2004 and I could see how much he loves her and that he is a peace. For someone to talk about the deceased with a smile on their face is a wonderful thing. What a great thing the gospel is!! He told me more about his family and I could see that he loves them with how he talked about them. He also said that he enjoyed his time with us last night and the food. He tried the horchata. . .he was kind of hesitant but thought it was pretty good. (it really needed more cinnamon too bad I didn't realize it until later : ( He left early because he had to go birthday shopping for his sister (her birthday was yesterday, but don't worry he didn't ditch her cause she was at the Rascal Flat concert). I really wanted to go with him to help pick something out for her, but I couldn't do that and be a bad co-hostess. He also had to be to work at 4 am this morning. . .ugh. He was happy though. he doesn't work tons, and enjoys his job. We also talked about my job and how I will be working over the break (fine with me cause I like $ the necessary evil to survive). I should have invited him up to tour the stacks, but didn't. . . I want him to though. I have invited him before. Maybe I'll see if he wants to go to lunch or something and then see the stacks. . .hmm. . .evil idea! And, oh yeah, I told him that we should start practicing a duet to play in church sometime. Good excuse to see him more and get to know him better. He agreed.

Work yesterday killed me, but I needed to do something so I shelved books. I have a trigger point in my back that hurts really bad and it flared up yesterday. Em, could tell I wasn't feeling the greatest and kept asking if I was okay. I told her no, but don't worry about it. I wanted to have fun! I can't focus on the pain or else I wouldn't get anything done in my life.

Now its morning and I really should go back to sleep. I think I will, and maybe later today I'll go shopping. . .I really feel like shopping. . .mall, old navy, I need to go to the distribution center too. . .shopping is fun!!!! Not that I need to but it would be nice.

sitting in the hot seat.

I was literally sitting on my heating pad because my butt hurt. . .it felt nice. . .
Hmm. . .other things to write?

Saw CD on Sunday he was really nice and happy.

Saw CD at institute today. . .he came in late but sat right behind me and said "hi cupcake" before he sat down. After class, to my dismay, he left quite quickly and I thought he was long gone. Not the case, he waited for me in the hall and talked to me. . .I have been quite giddy all day. I can't concentrate on my homework and I need to get something to eat before FHE. . . Of course I HAVE to go. . .well, I don't have to but I want to. I really should do my homework, but what's the point if you can't concentrate?

Friday

So, where to start. . .
It was absolutely fabulous. . .
If I only had one sentence that would be it, fabulous and that's all.

Actually there is more.
About 6:45 he, lets call him CD, called me and said he would be 15 minutes late. (Very curteous) That was fine because I was running that late too. I couldn't find my couscous recipe and still haven't, but thanks to liza who saved the day. . .YAY!!! THANKS!

7:30 rolled around and he still hadn't come so I tried to call but there was not answer so I sat and waited wondering where he was. When he finally came he brought flowers with him!!! Not just flowers, but YELLOW & WHITE!!! Did I mention that yellow is my favorite color? He certainly didn't know but he brought me yellow lillies and carnations and daisies and white ones too! So I told him.

Such a gentleman, he served me dinner and then raved it dinner. We had green salad (with radishes, tomatoes, carrots, and cucumber), couscous with orange zest and dried cranberries, and pork cutlets cooked in basalmic vinagrette dressing, and chocolate cheesecake. He told me his mom use to cut up radishes in salads and he loved it and he never had had couscous but he liked it. He had second helpings of everything, including the cheesecake which I sent home with him after the dance. When I asked him if he wanted it he said, "Yes, but that is only my carnal desire. You should share it with your roommates." So I told him that I intended to make it with sugar free pudding but I picked up the wrong one. So, because I am not suppose to have that much sugar, so by taking it he was helping me so that I wouldn't eat it. Then he took it, I'm glad he did because he liked it so much.

On our way to the dance he offered to drive. I was fine with that. As we walked to his truck he suddenly said let me pull my truck out so you don't have to step in the snow. He pulled it out onto the street. He did and then put his truck in park, got out, and opened my door!!!! In the middle of the street!!! What a great guy.

The dance was awesome, awesome, awesome. He taught me some moves because he loves to dance. . .I do too. . . YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! We had so much fun. . .it was great. Unfortunately I don't have pictures yet because my digital camera wasn't working so we used my slr and will have to use the rest of the film to get them. . .darn it!!!!

Anyway that was the day. He is so sweet. . .

Sugar free chocolate, wrestling roomates, and almost-burnt-popcorn

Yes I should be cleaning my room, but no, I don't feel like it and my body hurts.

Yes, I went to the store to buy TP and also bought more sugar free chocolate right before FHE and then after FHE SC and Ali were wrestling. . .And I wanted popcorn so I made some. . .it is almost burnt. . .so that may explain it.

Okay, now the goods. Institute was awesome, and my Friday date was there. After tute he asked me "So, are we still good for Friday?" No kidding! Yay! Okay, now, I'll slink off to my corner and think happy thoughts.

Holy Crap Bat Man!!!!!

So, daddy-o just called me to say, "Two years ago yesterday we flew out to pick you up from the mission. Sunday it will be 2 years ago that we got you from the mission home." EEK!!!! time sure flies when you're having fun!!! Or it just flies.

Liza went yesterday to pick up her sister from the airport. She has been talking about it all week. . .well for longer than all week. I have had so many memories come flying back to me. I really wish that I could go back and at least visit. that would be nice. I miss my NCCM peeps SO much.

The Great Cheerio Route Formula + Bull Crap=Dropped Geography

Can you tell from the title that I am fed up with geography? Well, I am. Today I talked with a financial aid advisor about what it would do to my financial aid if I withdrew from a class. She said I should be fine, but warned that if I ever went to take the class again it would have to be above and beyond 12 credit hours. . .but honestly I'm not going to take the class again. . .didn't like it too much.

I went to the registration windows and withdrew. . .it feels good not to have a night class and especially from a foreign crazy woman who tells us that anything is fair game for a test. . .including movies that we watched once and were suppose to remember (and she didn't make them avaliable on reserve or anything to review). We had a review the week before but most everything that we reviewed was NOT on the test. . .so hmm, is there something wrong with the way she was doing things? "I submit that there is!" Can life get any better since I have dropped the class? "I submit that it cannot." (a little clearification would be that I mean academically life can't get better than this)

Cheers!

A few thoughts. . .

In my walking for fitness class today we did "Walking Wisdom." Every time we went around the track completely we exchanged the thought we had for a different one. One of them has stuck with me and I cannot forget it so here it is:

"Until you value yourself, you will not value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it." -- M. Scott Peck

Another quote I have been pondering came from an e-mail forward to my Institute teacher Bro. K. I don't know who wrote it but it rings true.

"What if the Book of Mormon is to us what a cell phone is to the rest of the world?"

I think it is very profound. Bro. K. went further to say "What if we carried a copy of the Book of Mormon everywhere with us instead of a cell phone. What if we treated it like a cell phone and cared for it and put as much time in learning from it and we do learning and using cell phones? Would you turn around an go home to get it if you forgot it like you do a cell phone?" To me it is having the gospel on my mind or more importantly the Savior more than things of the world.

Just a little inspiration. . .

Not so Bummed Boarding

Okay, so I went boarding again to day, BUT before you break out in rage against me for doing it let me tell you 3 things.
1. I was boarding as part of a class and have to finish it.
2. I wanted to go to my last class with the instructor and classmates.
3. There was 17 inches of SOFT, FLUFFY, SOFTER-THAN-YOUR-BED-WHEN-YOU-FALL POWDER!!!!! (and yes I fell on my butt today [but mostly I managed to turn and go down on my hips {not so painful}]).
So broken butt girl couldn't stay away from the mountain-- it was calling!

I still have one class to make up and will be waiting until there is more powder (hopefully next week) to make it up so pray for snow so that it will be soft for me!!! ;)

It was a wonderful day and it felt good to exercise again. My class thought I was brave too. I love them and will miss them SO much.

A Butt Smackin' Good Time.

Well, as I sit here waiting for my super mommy to finish my butt pillow I think I'll write on how I broke my butt.

But first I have to say Liza and I went shopping on Friday night, before the whole fanny fracturing fiasco. It was a blast. I bought a new leather purse for $9 on clearance, a cardigan for $8 and a blouse for $15! I love it. I think that the purse is my favorite out of all the stuff.

Ok, the break up.

Yesterday was beautiful, perfect to go snowboarding. It wasn't too windy but the snow was a little icy. There is a lack of snow also which is very sad.

(Sorry I had to stop the Percocet that I was taking was horrible but now I am so much better!)

We had about an hour left and I WAS enjoying myself as I headed down the hill. BUT I hit an icy spot and fell on my butt it was bad enough to bring tears to my eyes and to audibly say Ouch . . .I knew something was wrong as I got up and my butt hurt and I was HOPING that it was just bruised (like before) but as I sat on on the the high powered lift I knew that something was definitely wrong. . .Ouch again. This was my last run of the day and I was SO glad. The group was heading down to the lodge and then back down one of the lifts where one of the guys lost his glove off the lift. The trip back down to the lodge was the LONGEST and TOUGHEST trip I have ever taken (at least that is how I felt). The path is almost like alpine skiing but levels out in one spot. I TRIED to say on the high end of the path to keep going but it didn't happen.

I was probably up there in the flat area for a good 10-15 minutes trying to get out. I tried to "wiggle" (going from side to side on a board) and hop (a sort of "walking" whole still attached to the board so you don't have to skate). I refused to skate because that would have me sitting on my butt to reattach my board once I got to a down hill spot. So I managed to crawl across the trail to get to the higher part so that I could get down. I went a little way and then I ended up on the other edge of the trail again. So I crawled back across and then stood and fell on my butt AGAIN! I don't know how many times it happened but this was the last time. I had thought of just laying there on the trail until a ski patrol person came down again but I wasn't sure how long that was going to be and I didn't want to worry the class or our instructor. I said a prayer out loud. "Heavenly Father I have got to get off this mountain and I need your help." No sooner had I said that, then I got up and managed to start going down hill.

When I'm tired of boarding I get lazy and don't even switch the positions or anything I just go down the hill toe side first. I slid toe side first all the way down the hill until I met our instructor and one of the guys. The three of us went down to the lodge with and encouraging word from our instructor promising that we were almost there. When I finally made it to the lodge I decided not to go on the last run, but instead go home. I lounged in the snow for about 10 minutes until I decided that it was time to go. Then I got up and rode my board half way to my car (there is a path that you can ride its pretty cool and useful).

When I go to my car I was really slow in getting in and going, but I made it. I sat down and tears came to my eyes again and I began to cry. . .you know the hyperventilation crying that we all experienced as kids? That was me. As soon as I was off the mountain and had cell phone reception I called CC and asked her to buy me a butt doughnut (sadly it didn't do the job). I cried the rest of the way home. I know I made it I just don't know how. It is all a blur.

When I got home, I called CC and we did a 3 way call with mom who told me that I needed to go to the Insta-Care. By that time I was in agreeing. . .no more denial! It hurt so bad to get out of the car!!!!! I showered and made it to insta-care. . .CC drove. I checked in and waited for like 45 minutes. . .I think. Then I got in the back and was there for another 30-45 minutes I think. . .Ask CC cause pain makes things worse and I lose track of time. ( I do have to say that I wasn't happy that CC told mom, cause I was going to "take care of it and be a big girl" but instead I was a big baby. I was in the examroom FOREVER waiting for the doctor to come see me. Dr. C told me that it was the same treatment if I had bruised or broke my coccyx. . .(tail bone) and that if I had insurance I could get an xray. I told him that I wanted one and was covered by insurance so he sent his nurse to take me to the xray room.

The lady there was really nice (she was older, like she could have been my mom) but she asked me when I had my last period. . .which was in December. . .(I've been stressed and such. . .so to skip a month is normal for me). We had to find out of Dr. C would let me have them done or make me pee in a cup. . .(I had to wait 15 minutes to find out and I could have done it in that time). I told the lady that I wasn't sexually active. . .hmm. . .you wanna see my temple recommend? :D She believed me, but since people are dishonest & sue happy I had to take one. Ok. . .so once I peed and the xrays were taken I went back to re-dress myself and wait for the doc to show me my ugly flabby mid area in the form of a xray. . .so this might be TMI but you could see EVERYTHING like my flabby outline and hairy parts and such. . .kind of disturbing and EMBARRASSING since the viewing machine is in the HALL!!!!! There were 2 views one straight on (the embarrassing one) and then a side view. . .not so bad as the first. He showed me what looked like the end of my tailbone and then said "You would think that this is the end of your coccyx," (I thought I was out of the clear and free to go. . .but it wouldn't be so) "But you see this over here? this is really the end of your tailbone." OUCH!!!! Not only was it broken but it is"over here" "lodged"(not sure if it can move or will stay put) in my butt! (P, a co-worker is worried about it puncturing my uterus and maiming my child making abilities.) I think I know which side it is in because I hurt more on one side than the other. The doc gave me a prescription for percocet because lortab makes me loopy.

Percocet is ten times WORSE than lortab. . .I would rather be loopy than sweat and feel weird and sick and dizzy and out of it and such. So on Sunday I I discovered just HOW bad it was. I had taken it on Saturday but Sunday I was awake while taking it. Hence the reason why I had to stop writing when my mom was sewing my butt pillow (which is now basically flat).

Now I am on hypernicum (St. John's Wart) that is suppose to help quicken healing to nerve endings and also named especially for tail bone damage and Ibuprofen for pain.

So I guess that is it. . .Any question?

Rough courtship leaves polar bear all shook up

Ok, so, I just found this and although it is sad I could not help but giggle at one line! Aparently at zoos, or at least the Memphis Zoo there is such a thing as a "mammal curator." This is funny to me since I really really really wouldn't mind working in a museum and am in that field. Come on a Mammal curator?

I can imagine a conversation going:
"Hello, my name is Bob, what's yours?"
"Wendy. Nice to meet you Bob. What do you do for a living?"
"Oh, well, I am an animal curator."
"Oh really? You work at a natural history museum then? Where?"
"No, actually, I work at the Memphis Zoo."
(Enter the bewilderment of a blond Wendy) "How do you get the animals to stay where you tell them to in the position you tell them?"

Yes, can you tell I'm on percocet this morning? It probably affects me like loratabs do. Loopy, slow but dang funny.

I will write later about my fanny fracture this afternoon I promise!

I should be in bed but I'm not quite ready yet.

The great circle route isn't such a mystery. Liza I took notes so that I an COMPLETELY explain it to you tomorrow. Once you have all the correct things to do it and know how to plug it all in it works. I'm happier now. I totally understand how to do it which is WONDERFUL.

My English class today was horrible. Anyway that was it. I'm like yeah, done and don't know what to say.

Today was interesting and I learned a lot. "That's all."

Great Circle Route Formula+My math skills=Headache

Yes, the Great Circle Route Formula is a PAIN! I am not mathematically inclined but I do have common sense. . .I also have an assignment due tomorrow that is on the great circle route formula and calculating it. Liza worked it through and couldn't get it and then showed me how far she has gotten. . . then I took it and went to the math lab on campus and tried to figure it out but it didn't work. My answer is not the same as anything that I have found from credible sites on the internet like a great circle calculator that is used by the Marines. If I didn't have to have the class I wouldn't *CURSES geography*! So right now I am going to go on and do some of my other geography homework that doesn't use the four letter M word!!! I have e-mailed my teacher and asked if I can meet her tomorrow before class. I'm hoping she will answer.

I have no desire to do my other homework and hate the fact that I have all of this stuff to do. Oh yeah, and if it isn't hard enough I also have to have a globe to do part of it. . .hopefully the library has one cause I don't. . ."Here let me pull it out of my pocket and use it for my assignment!!!!!!!!"

AND my room is very messy it is BUGGIN' me like no other and I need to practice but I feel like vomiting because I ate Honey nut cheerios and they were too sweet. . .blasted sugar. . .I know you wanted to know that didn't you!
I hate it when I try and do good things for my body but things go wrong because I sometimes don't think and screw it up or take upon myself momentary pleasures like eating a brownie or going to get Chinese and then pay for it later. GAH!!!!! Ok back to the regularly scheduled program. As you were.
