I'll tell you what I want. . .what I really really want. . .

Christmas was great. Time with the family. New TV!!!! YAY!!!

We also got snow. Which gets me to what I want. . .I want a 4x4. Dang, there was tons of snow and the roads were snow packed from yesterday. The problem is that I don't have much extra money to throw at another vehicle and I love my chevy malibu. I have really been afraid to drive in the snow because of other people and the fact that sometimes the snow hits the bottom of my car. I have found a few 4 wheel drive vehicles that are under $1000 but I am still iffy about things. I don't know, I just know that the utah snow is horrible and I hate driving it and go figure I love it all at the same time. I also like vehicles that are higher up than a car so that the lights aren't in my eyes.

Its snowing, I hurt, I'm tired, and everyone is waiting. . .

I came home from work early since I don't feel well. Lets blame the weather, not eating extremely well, and I'm tired.

So. . .I sit cuddled in blankets typing what my audience wants to read.

My semi-blind date
. . .and no I don't mean that he was blind either! ;)

Lets start at the very beginning. . .before the date. My co-worker kind of set us up. . .by kind of set up I mean she told us about each other and gave him my phone number and told him to call me. She showed me pictures of him on facebook and said that she gave him my phone number. I was kind of scared, so I thought well, we could get to know each other on facebook. That was about a month ago, and nothing had happened. I was thinking, you know wait until after finals and such. Finals week ended on December 12th and I waited. . . and waited and waited. . .I am somewhat impatient. . .and it got to me. So I sent him a e-mail on facebook on Monday. He replied on tuesday.

We went to Bistro 258 because I had a gift certificate (yummy food!) and went to see Australia. Both of which were great. The WW2 sceenes in Australia were fictionalized, but it was good anyway. . .action and romance are usually a good combination for me. Besides, if you want a little eye candy Hugh Jackman is your man. . .Mmm Mmm good! I had to remember I was on a date and not say anything about his hotness. Hey Melissa this one is for you . . . ;) He is a tall glass of cold water! hee hee.

We talked about everything at lunch/dinner (we went at 2:45). Family, school & grad school, food, cooking. . .life in general. He is such a sweet positive person. I want to get to know him better. He is kind of shy though, which is okay. He told me about his accident (he is paralyzed) and how thankful he is that he doesn't have brain damage. WOW, very positive! He always smiled and has great blue eyes. I know that to many girls it matters that a guy who they go on a date with is in a wheelchair. I had no problem with it, I really didn't see it, I just saw him.

When it was over he made sure my car was still there (I parked in 2 hour parking not realizing that the show in 2 hours and 45 minutes) and we hugged and went our separate ways. The rest is history.

I would like to get to know him better and I hope that he thinks about asking me out.

Now I'm to the point of over thinking things. . .but I don't need to. Friendship is a great place to start.

Thursday, December 18, 2008

. . .

My eyes are not focusing and my vision is fuzzy. . .lack of sleep.
I have a date at 2:45 for lunch/dinner and a movie. . .Australia. . .this should be interesting since it is a semi blind date.

More to come. . .later. . .and I don't know what that means.

My daddy is cute

So, I just have to say that my dad sent me a link for and article on etsy from KSL. He called me to ask if I had checked my e-mail and got the link. I have been working on jewelry to sell for extra income. He was so excited and it is cute that he is trying to help me. . . :oD (I knew about etsy but I have been hesitant about getting an account there because I don't have the confidence that my jewelry will sell there. I also don't have a credit card I want to be charged for listings and such.) I am going to start a blog with all of my jewelry and have in home shows. I already have people who want to come.

New "Toys"

I am addicted to jewelry making. . .especially silver smithing. I was lazing in bed this morning thinking of how I could get a torch for annealing and soldering and such. . . I managed to find one for under $100 (including shipping)!!!! How exciting is that? Of course I purchased it. Now all I have to do is get an oxygen tank and a propane tank and a soldering board and regulators!

I present you with my NEW TOY which will arrive in 2-5 business days.

Oh deer

I don't know if I have written about this before, but I am terrified of deer when I am in the car and especially while I am driving.

A long time ago when I was a senior in high school (1999-2000) I got hit by a deer on opening day of deer season. . . yes I GOT HIT, no not I hit a deer, but I got hit. . . I was on a dark country road lined with corn fields at about 8 pm after a photography club event. Technically I didn't get hit, but Buttercup our wonderful old, now passed on, dodge caravan got hit in the driver's side door. I was was the only one in the car listening to 89.1 fm. . .yes classical 89. . . they were playing Spanish dance music. . .probably classical guitar music. Needless to say, I was traumatized!

Fast-forward. . .October 30, 2008 Almost to the day I was hit last. . .I was driving to wal-mart at 6 pm on Thursday on a well traveled road, not even thinking about deer. I was the last car in a group of random travelers, the others were probably 50 to 100 feet ahead. No one to the the left. Out of nowhere a doe ( I think deer of the feminine persuasion have it out for me!) comes running from the right. I freaked and didn't know what to do. . .I was going 65 (the speed limit) and hyperventilating and adrenaline rushing all at once. The reason I don't drive on that road at night is because of the deer that like to cross it in front of cars! It wasn't dark so I thought it was safer. . .but it was almost dusk. (Duh cupcake, hey I was having a hard day as it was so I probably wasn't thinking clearly.) I swear that I did not even think to turn the wheel, but I drifted left as the doe slowed down and veered right a little. I didn't get hit but it freaked me out. I do realize that I was protected and am so thankful for it!!!

Return to sender

So, I didn't get accepted to the masters program that I thought I wanted to be in. . .

I was at work when I got the e-mail. I had been thinking about the program and wasn't sure I really wanted to go through with it. SO, now I am going to work on taking the GRE and apply to multiple universities for a masters in history. All I really want to do is teach college.

Revelation on post-it notes

I have been some-what preoccupied with how I am going to be able to afford to pay on my student loans which come due in November (an even start grad school in January [I'm still waiting to hear]). Scary! The reason why I am so worried is I will not have a raise this next year and I am not making tons of money.

This morning I woke up and there was a post-it note at the head of my bed with a quote from President Heber J. Grant quoted by Sheldon F. Child of the Seventy that I had written down. It is AMAZING how the Lord works. The quote is from the May 2008 Ensign article called "The Best Investment."

Here it is:

"President Heber J. Grant stated, 'I want to say to you, if you will be honest with the Lord, paying your tithing and keeping His commandments, He will not only bless you with the light and inspiration of His Holy Spirit, but you will be blessed in dollars and cents; you will be enabled to pay your debts, and the Lord will pour out temporal blessings upon you in great abundance. ' "

The two parts in red are what I had written down. I had completely forgotten that quote.

Jewelry Class

I started a jewelry class last night. I LOVE it. My teacher asked if I had ever done anything with metal like it before because I did it so well. YAY me!!! We were each given a scrap of metal to square up. I did it faster than the rest of the ladies in the class and almost had to start on another one. Yeah, our teacher is male and all of the class member are female. It is kind of funny but fun all at the same time.

We started a using copper to learn and practice making rings. I managed to smash my thumb. . .I would have had 2 blood blisters but one of them popped, so I bleed profusely and the other one stayed in tact. I washed the cut like 10 times last night because I was paranoid that there might be metal inside.

An now I give you pictures.

Life is an Adventure

Kip's comment on my last entry made me really think about how everyone is different and AWESOME in their own way.

Thinking of people who read my blog. . .or at least I think read my blog ;) my list is thus:

Kip: Awesome because she has the ability to love and CARE FOR animals. (and she loves books)

Laurie: Awesome because she is a stay at home mommy and webmaster for websites she created. She also is a wonderful cook.

Stewie: Care for family and work at home. . .that in and of itself would kill me. She is also great for letting us stop by when we are in the area.

Nasty Butler: Letting me bum around with them when she and Steph hangout randomly (and picking me up when she didn't have to). Also she is a really cool artist.

Steph: I'm tempted to say she is my sister. . .enough said. . .but I can't. She puts up with me when I'm stupid and end up putting my foot in my mouth. She is THE BEST designer I know. . .No, she is not the only one I know, but she is the BEST! The list is long long long. . .so "One and two should be good enough."

Missliza: She also puts up with my crap, and is the RS president in her branch (scary calling!). She is obsessed with Jane Austin (good for her. . .I tease her for it). When she wants to learn about something she is so "diligent" that she becomes obsessed.

Bossy McFlossy: Need I say more? She is my boss and puts up with my cheeky monkey-ness. She has never gotten mad at me when I really think that she could have. Patience. . .that sums it up.

Did I miss anyone?

Statement of Purpose, Rock Climbing, Beads

In that order. . .

After a LONG plague of writer's block I finally finished my Statement of Purpose and sent it to UW Milwaukee. . .overnighted it to be exact. Who knew that 2 pieces of paper would cause me so much stress and grief. . .and 16.50? I think historians are procrastinators at heart. . .I am trying to break that habit.

Rock Climbing. . .the class. . . To be truthful I have been hesitant about the class and that is why I waited to take it until it doesn't count for anything. I have gained weight since I went last and my biggest fear has been that there wouldn't be a harness to fit me. . .and my fat legs. . . I found one online for about $30 Sweet deal! It isn't fancy schmancy, but it fits me. I got to class yesterday and there were all of these sticks with boobs freshmen girls and some guys. . .I was the largest person in the class. . .until Dr. W walked in and I knew that I could rock climb if he could. . . he is not a small man and so it made me feel better. We spent time going over the syllabus and learning technical terms. . .and tying knots. . . sweet! At the end of class he said that despite physical/genetic make up ANYONE can climb. . .YAY!!!! I am pumped. . .I really wish that we had class next week though because I want to get started!

I am going crazy. I just want and need to sit down and bead some stuff to sell. The problem is that some of the things I want to do require sterling silver wire. . .that I don't have. So I went to Joanne's and Michael's to see if they had any in the gage that I want. . .no. . .Looks like I am going to have to just get it online. SAD!!! I did buy a wire jig though. . .I think I did at least. I also bought some more beads because several ideas came to mind when I looked at them. I should get an esty site or sell them on e-bay or something.

Stress, oye ve

Wow, I have a fabulous writers block, making it so that I cannot mail my Statement of purpose. . .pooh bottoms. . .it is due on Monday (I know that Monday is a holiday but still that is when its due). I am waiting for advice on how to proceed.

Last night I had to go to a guitar practice session with my trio that lasted for almost an hour and a half. . .not good. That combined with neglecting my sleep and stress has worn me down and I fell asleep at 10:00 hoping that the writer's block would be gone in the morning. . .nope. 6 am came and I still couldn't produce. It is DUE MONDAY!!!! What am I going to do?

On top of that I was a little disturbed last night by the fact that 1. I have now been playing the classical guitar for one year. 2. My friend from the class told me that she is bi. . .(honestly I had to make sure I knew what bi means because I was tired and stressed so when I got home I looked it up) I am not anti, she is what she is but I didn't know and it came up out of the blue. 3. The guy that is playing with us in the trio thought we both had husbands and children. 4. The biggest shocker is that she thought I am like 22. (What a surprise, people usually think I am OLD.)

So yeah. . .oh, and today ROCK CLIMBING! But I'm tired. . .good thing they don't do anything on the first day of class.

Death, Pimples & Change.

Before I left my parent's house I said bye to Gramps. He told me something like don't go too far. I kind of rattled me because sometimes people know when the time is short. I wanted to cry on the way home, but I couldn't because I know that everything will be okay, somehow.

Other news:

I have a pimple in my ear that hurts like the dickens. . .I'm going to blame that one on the hike I took last Monday since I fell and skinned my knee. . .and ripped a whole in my pants. . .good thing I was wearing pants and not shorts.

I'm moving. . .downstairs. I figure that I can save money and maybe the distance will help me and my sister. . .sometimes we get very impatient with each other. My current room just might be rented to the friend of a girl who is renting the other upstairs room.

Saturday, August 23, 2008

hmm

I am very confused, and such. . . and I have no idea.

More later. . .possibly.

Mis-directed rage and remorse that follows

The whole roommate thing has been a struggle and I wish earlier that we had talked to the culprit and not been angry at the person in the middle. Now I know things that I wish I knew then, like how much I really will miss Natasha if she leaves, and how much the things I did and said really hurt her, even the things that I never said to her but to others about her. I was wrong. I want to cry so bad it hurts. Why do I always let myself get this far only to realize that I have hurt some one that I love and still want to be my friend, but I'm not sure that will happen. We had some wonderful times, and some hard ones, but the good always outweighs the bad, and I wish with all of my heart that I had realized that before.

the case of the missing tampons

yes, missing. . . i had basically a whole box and it is now less than half full and I didn't use them all. . . If I ask about it I will most likely be lied to. Just fess up to it and don't do it again that's all I ask!

Why am I so stressed

I have been trying to figure out the reason that I am so stressed. . .I don't FEEL stressed, but my body is telling me otherwise.

I have come to a couple of conclusions. The first being that the past few weeks have been stressful because of the roommate situation. It has been nice this week because the 2 of them are gone. . .well the one roommate and the one guest are gone. I don't know how to take this but I don't want to be stressed while living here. What to do? I'm thinking about having the roommate make good on the promise that her guest will only be at the apartment sporadically until Jill moves out and we have another room available. I know she will probably go into a rage but I really can't handle the fact that it has been this long and I was walked in on in the bathroom on Sunday morning. . .the door was shut!!!!!!! (the lock on the door doesn't latch.) Communication is key and since there hasn't been any. But DUH!!!

The second stress conclusion is that I haven't been able to work as much overtime as I need to.

I'm not sure what to do about the first problem other than move which isn't an option. I have started to be better on the overtime though. Just thinking about the roommates coming back gives me a headache. . .What do you do?

Incredibly Amazing

I had THE BEST day at church today. I forgot to fast. . . :( but I learned so much and I know that the lessons were inspired, they were what I needed to hear. I know the people who gave them don't read my blog, but here is a shout out of a great big thanks to them!!!

Also I love the people in the ward, and I know that is where I am suppose to be. I had someone talk me into going to our super summer activity on Thursday through Saturday. . .YAY! I'm going, but going to come home early on Saturday so that I can make it to our family reunion at 11. I guess when it rains it pours in regards to things to do on the weekends.

I also told a guy that he has incredibly amazing blue eyes. Then he winked at me. . .(I was only telling him the truth)

Thats all.

Why I want to move

I have been talking and talking about moving but haven't made any effort to move. Well it has come to this. . .a list of reasons WHY I want to live on my own and now I'm actively looking.

1. This reminds me of Dashboard Confessional's song "Your hair is everywhere" Literally some of my roomies have VERY long hair. . .I have found it in my sheets, my underwear, wrapped around my little toes, clumps on the floor, I throw away huge clumps from the shower. . .SO GROSS!

2. I want to be able to use the shower anytime day or night and get out without having to put clothes on to walk to my room.

3. I want to use all of the kitchen and not feel guilty when I am.

4. I want to deep clean the house and not have people come home and take it for granted and dirty it and not clean up after themselves.

5. I think if I were to live alone I would be able to regulate my bedtime schedule and my food habits by not feeling like I was taking over the kitchen, and not running all over Timbuktu to do things.

6. When you live by yourself the only person that will lie to you is yourself.

7. QUIET. . .need I say more?

8. People don't use your stuff without asking. . .namely shower products.

9. I can have more plants

10. I don't leave dirty dishes laying around for ants to get at.

11. I want a place for all of my things. . .a proper place.

12. Somewhere closer to campus so that I can walk or ride my bike to work easily and not have to go 2 miles one way up and down hills.

There are more but I need to go shower and get to grandmas house so I can do my laundry and be cool today. . .and work.

GRR. . .

13. I can shower whenever I want to and not have to worry about someone being in the shower when I plan to shower.

14. I don't have to worry about an over crowded fridge because of the stuff I buy when I go shopping.

15. My personal bath towel can stay in the bathroom and not have to live in my bedroom so that it doesn't get used by the other roomies who I share the bathroom with. EEW!!!

16. I don't have to shove most of my life into a roughly 11x12 room.

can I get 93?

Our air conditioner is still broke-d. One of our roomies turned it on and who knows how LONG it had been blowing HOT AIR and it was 90-freakin'-2. Special. . .Now I am wishing that it was 85.

hotter than hades

Oye, for the 3rd day now our apartment has been HOT HOT HOT and the air conditioner is BROKEN. The landlady's fix-it guy is working to get it going again but it is slow going because he needs a part and who knows when it will arrive. He has been really kind and I guess he can fix it somehow so that it will turn on and blow cold air in the evening. I don't know how people live without air conditioning. . . inside their houses. I feel lethargic and don't want to do anything and yeah. Not even cook. . .and I love to cook. Hopefully this will get fixed tonight.

I go to work to relax.

Cupcake's Cupcakes

I have been trying to figure out how to earn more money so that I can pay off my bills. . .other than selling my plasma and such.

I have taken a cake decorating class and really enjoyed it.  I have been thinking about finishing out the wilton courses and possibly starting a small cupcake/cake business. . . It occured to me yesterday that I could do this, but I am lost at how to start after I finish the classes.  The other problem is a place to do all of this as I share a kitchen with 4 other girls. . .I don't want to use the kitchen I have. . .I even have some really fun ideas that I haven't seen done before and I wouldn't mind specializing in low-sugar, and no sugar added options for people like me.

Any Ideas?

He makes me laugh sometimes

Ok, so you know how little kids look at you with these totally adorable faces with quizical looks. Gramps did this before I left Mom and Dad's house tonight. I was so cute, I love it when that happens. I was in the bathroom, when Steph left and Gramps thought I was leaving then too, so he got up and rushed over to his walker so he could stop me and give me a hug and kiss before I left. He gave me one of those looks when I came back into the kitchen and asked where he was going, so I got 2 hugs and kisses, one before I thought I was leaving and one when I left.

In other news church was great and I'm an official member of the ward now that they have my membership records. I am discovering how many friends I really have in the ward and that it is very different from when I was there before. There are more outgoing people and it is GREAT.

Tonight I emailed U of W Milwaulkee to find out some details on their SOIS program for a masters in library science because I knew that a phone call is never going to happen. Hopefully I hear back from them tomorrow.

Tomorrow I officially start my back on track weight watchers. I prepared many things yesterday and look forward to the yummy food!

Quetzalcoatl Priestess. . .ain't she beautiful?  hee hee.

New Ward FHE

I just have to say I LOVE MY WARD!!!  Yesterday I was completely overwhelmed by many things at work, including that I have get to do overtime equaling 75 hours a month.  (At least I don't have to do everything my boss does plus overtime.)  I went home and one of my roommate claimed I had an attitude problem, because I looked at her with a why-the-heck-did-you-say-that faces when she said something about not watching channel 7 or 11.  That was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.  It put me in a funk that I almost didn't get out of.  I was feeling lower than dirt and wasn't going to go to FHE but the thought of getting a priesthood blessing became very appealing so I met at the church to go.

I drove myself so that I could leave when I wanted to instead of having to wait to leave with someone.   I was just kind of wandering waiting for the chance to ask someone for help and looking for a group of people to hang with since I am sort of a floater.  I introduced myself to the bishop since I hadn't yet actually talked to him, but I didn't have the courage at first to ask for a blessing.  It was later in the evening that he asked if I had gotten something to eat that I asked for a blessing.  Then the usual question of is everything ok? was asked and tears started to well up and I told him that I have been stressed lately because of work and I have been feeling overwhelmed with the amount of things that I have to do that are also not work related.

He found a place to  give me a blessing but before he gave me one he asked how my health was, and we talked about fibromyalgia and depression.  We also talked about old roomie that is still in the ward and how I feel and how she probably feels.  I wasn't intending on telling the bishop about it but I did.  I didn't tell him however about not knowing if I should get my MLIS and that has been weighing heavily on my mind as the application date is september.

After the blessing I told him about the MLIS because I was told to carry through with my plans and studies and I knew he was probably wondering why that was since I told him that I am finished with school.  He told me that he wanted to continue to meet with me to make sure that I am ok health wise and such.

I am glad I went cause after all of these people started to talk to me and I really enjoyed myself.

I am doing so much better and I now have a plan of how I am going to do overtime and make up hours.

the end

Today at the lake was wonderful. The ward is wonderful. I have wonderful friends who tried to teach me how to waterski. The drive was lovely and now I am going to bed. I will write more about it later.

New stuff

So far today I have had 2 adventures.

The first one I have been contemplating for awhile, but since I had surgery I haven't felt up to ACTUALLY doing it. I walked to Harrison and caught the bus. I was worried that I wouldn't get to the stop before the bus so I left like 20 minutes early to walk. I waited at the stop for about 10 minutes. There is a bench at the stop, and so I comfortably waited and listened to my ipod. As I was leaving one of the neighbor ladies was also leaving and she is so nice that she offered me a ride. I thanked her but turned her down because I want to walk to force myself to exercise, besides, I like to be outside. (Steph says I'm a closet granola girl and some of the roomies agree) I kinda agree, I blame it on my mission and bikes.

The second adventure was that I tried blueberry yogurt and liked it. I haven't been adventurous with blueberries because everything I have ever had them in hasn't been my favorite.

Happiness

Today I went to a different ward for church. The ward I am suppose to be in, the one in which my apartment is in (not the roomies, but the apartment). On Saturday I started to mentally freak-out because of the anxiety of seeing an old roommate who still attends the ward even though she no longer lives in the ward.

I have agonized over the decision to leave the b-town ward and find a ward where I can have friends and enjoy going to activities without spending so much on gasoline. I had decided on going to the 13th ward, that is in a different stake, but after praying about it many times the answer came as no. When I explained myself, and my thinking to the Lord that I need friends and a social life where I live the response was, "You have friends in the 11th ward, and you live in those boundaries." Enough said. . . only I have been putting going there off, until today.

I was surprisingly early, and I saw 2 of my friends, which was a relief, and they were excited to see me. One of them asked me to sing with the choir, as they needed altos for one of the hymns on the program, I said yes, but at the time I didn't realize that they were singing TODAY. . .it was okay though. That was fine though since I knew I couldn't sit on a tin chair for 2 hours because it was the 5th Sunday combined thing. . . which I dislike anyway. . .bleh (I usually come away from it very disappointed since I usually forget it is that Sunday and don't get spiritually fed as well as I would like [my own problem I know]).

So that was my return to church. . .my ward. The happiest thing was I saw big-in-japan, he makes me happy since he is so nice, he too, was excited to see me. I was surprised to see him though because he had talked about leaving the ward, but I guess since he is executive secretary he doesn't have to leave the ward since he is part of the bishopric technically. He makes me happy, he needs to find a great girl, he deserves a great girl.

I this morning when I got up again I prayed for love and acceptance and peace and more stuff concerning the old roommate. I was so blessed, because I have prayed for awhile that I may not be angry about things that were said, and such. I do not feel anger or hatred towards her, I know it will be hard, because I know that I am still fragile in that area but there is no need for me to hate. I really feel more of a compassion and charity towards her, sorry for things that have happened and how they happened. It is a wonderful feeling.

Getting back on track. At church I was so happy and felt that I am were I should be. I am still happy, I haven't had a great Sunday in a long time. In choir practice I made a new friend who is my age. . .that doesn't happen very often, usually they are older or younger, but she is my same age. . . When it was time for sacrament meeting I was relieved that the ward has shrunken some and they didn't have to open the overflow. (BIG wards intimidate me) There are some new faces and old, which is a good mix. I also saw one of my friend's ex-husband, it saddened me that they got divorced. . .especially since I know that part of it was over money. I also saw the old roommate. . .no eye contact was made. As I sang with the choir I glanced over the audience I noticed her, and that she would not look up while I was up there, I also noticed that she left right after church, unusual since she is usually a mingler. This is going to be hard since she probably hates my guts, but I don't know, what I do know is that things will work out, somehow.

My new friend saw me sitting alone in the chapel before Sacrament meeting started, and she sat by me. :D It really helped me and once again made me happy. She also brought a friend with her, someone I knew from the b-town ward long ago. . .very long ago. YAY!!! New friend and old friend want me to sit with them when I don't have anyone to sit by. New friend told me that she is 27 and has moved 21 times in her life, and so she really knows what it is like to be new in a ward and how having a friend really helps. It was great, yay for bench friends!!!!

I really don't think there are enough exclamation marks in this entry do you?

I love being happy.

Re-healing, Gramps and, Work

On Tuesday night I turned over in bed and pushed myself up with my right arm. That was a mistake cause I did something to one of my incisions. It the incision didn't open or anything but I think I tore or pulled something inside cause I am so sore. OUCHIE. I feel like it is the first week after surgery again (good thing that it is only 1 incision and not 5). I used a package of frozen peas and carrots to cut the swelling and have had to take half pain pills to help myself get through today. . .No bras at all, those hurt. So I haven't been back to work since Tuesday when I worked a whole day. My boss texted me this evening and said have a good birthday tomorrow.

Gramps. . .he is going down hill, it isn't a good thing either. Daddy has been out of town and mom has been having to deal with it all. It is stressful, I feel bad about mom having to do things. I see my mom and what she has been going through and don't know what to do since gramps is dad's dad. I am glad to see that my parents are realizing that they are not going to be able to take care of gramps at their house.

Work is good, I am scanning and actually got in 6 hours today. . .miracles never cease! 2 movies later. Now I should go to bed.

What a girl wants

All I really want is a mini schnauzer and and apartment to call my own. . . a man would be nice, but at this point I feel like he is optional since I just want to be happy and on my own with someone/thing to take care of, and the dog I want would cover that.

I dream of the day that I have an apartment, one bedroom, or even studio at this point, but an apartment that I can call my own and don't have to worry about living with others who don't clean up after themselves. I also want to use my own dishes and such, but don't dare put them out in the shared apartment because they WILL get ruined. There is no might, it is just inevitable. I want that day to come so bad.

I thought I was being smart and found a very inexpensive "2 bedroom" apartment. . .2 bedroom my buttocks. The place was a DIVE, can you spell ghetto? I looked at it and the bathroom was in the shared laundry room that the upstairs people have traipse through the basement to use the laundry room. Don't even get me started on the non-existent, fake kitchen with the garage/utility sink. They claim that it is close to campus but it really isn't.

I am still at my parents place for healing after surgery, but will be back in Ogden possibly tomorrow, but Sunday night at the latest. Right now I really don't want to go back to the apartment because I "temporarily" have to share a bathroom with 2 other people, and it kind of burns me because it is MESSY, and the apartment is messy because of the roomie and her friend that is staying. They are great girls, but I really am having a hard time handling what is going on because it is almost like they don't care about the environment. When I moved in it was suppose to be just 1 person sharing the bathroom, and that is how it has been, but right now this is too much, one too many.

I am kind of at a loss of what to do.

Anyone want to buy me a puppy for my birthday?

I really SHOULD be in bed.

It is past the time that I can eat or drink anything, and I am winding down from a very busy day. All of my food is prepared, my room is cleaner, and my bed has new sheets. . .but apparently my mom has short memory and claims that I never told her that this surgery is out patient. They both assumed that I was going to stay in the night in the hospital. . .

After surgery they refuse to let me stay at the apartment. I am NOT happy to be going to Brigham tomorrow after surgery. I want to be in my own comfortable home!!!!!!!! I feel like all the effort I made today is going to go to waste since I will basically be in Brigham until they decide that I can come back to the townhouse, and then my car will still be in Brigham since the turn signals need to be fixed. . . something that is a recall (when it affects the vehicle, I know it doesn't make sense, but goldie is going to visit the shop to be fixed. For Free.

Ten and the Super long ammended post.

Kip didn't tag anyone, and I really want to do this, so "tag, I'm it!"

Ten things that make me happy.

1.Chacos. . . What other sandal can you: Adjust all of the straps so your feet are super comfy? Easily replace the sole? Wear spring/summer/fall and know that next year you will have the same happy pair of sandals to wear minus some rubber wear? Throw in the washer and have clean sandals? Chacos=investment (longterm) Worth every penny!!!!

2.BBQ Hamburgers and Roomies (together). Jill grills the best burgers ever. I finally feel like those of us who hangout together actually have things in common, its great.

3. 48oz of water in my nalgene bottle. . .to make it the best, freeze the bottom 1/3 for cold water all day long. So worth it and yes drinking water makes me happy.

4. Confidence from my boss that I can do things I have never done. For example I will be recording an oral interview today. I'm super excited! My job in general, it makes me happy.

5. No homework over the weekends. . .FREEDOM. Need I say more?

6. Sunshine (and sometimes sunburns [if I have enjoyed myself]). . .and soaking it in.

7. My family. . .no matter how annoyed I get with them. Gramp's 83 birthday was Sunday and it was so cute to watch him. My parents bought him one of those clocks that don't need setting. . .he sat there forever just staring at it. Mom and dad were hillarious in their antics of setting the clock. Family dinner on Sundays also=happiness.

8. Random acts of kindness from people when I am down.

9. My car. I have had beetle envy, and convertible envy and everything in between. My car makes me happy, why? It is almost paid for, and it has been good to me, and I will probably drive it into the ground.

10. The Gospel of Jesus Christ. . .and everything it includes!

(the last part of the title reminds me of Sanitary pads. . .you know. . .super longs?)

Anyway. I was also going to post about what has been going on in my life. After graduation. . .Still working the same job as before. . .but my gallbladder seems to think that it is time to quit. . .Hopefully after Thursday I can sing "Yes, I have no gallbladder, no gallbladder in my body today!!" Those horrible stomach pains? Gallbladder. . .oh, so fun. . .The pains have continued, but they are not as bad as the very first time. Lovely. It has taken a month to finally sort things out with what has been going on with my body. I had an ultra sound, an Hida scan, and saw a surgeon. I am scheduled to have surgery this Thursday, but I am worried that the insurance will turn me down because it has to be approved, and I am still in the probationary stage until september. . .Pray that the insurance accepts the reasons.

The good thing about it is I can work from home during the recovery time. . .

4.0

Yeah, that is what I got this semester!!! My very first and most likely my last. I am now working on applying to University of Wisconsin for next spring to get my MLIS. Exciting stuff. I can see right now how much I need to go get a Masters degree. It is an online program and I don't even have to take the GRE or MAT!!!

I graduated!!!

On Friday morning I had to be at the Dee Events Center at 7 freakin' 30 in the morning. There were 3 things that I loved! 1. All of the graduates in attendance received a bronze metal to wear (I was thinking that they would be those cheap medallions or something like that. . .they weren't. It was quite heavy, it surprised me, but it was awesome. 2. The student graduate speaker was AWESOME. . . the best speaker in all of graduation. 3. I got to see Yas and congratulate her for being the new Dean of Health Professions. YAY!! I am so happy for her, she will be awesome!!!

The funny thing about the early commencement ceremony is that it was suppose to start at 8. . .it didn't. . .try Mormon standard time. Yeah. . .15 minutes late.

Friday Afternoon at 2:30 was Convocations (you know, where the diploma covers are given out. . .but not the diplomas?) Yeah. . .the last hurrah with my peeps. I am going to miss them. In some ways Graduation seems surreal since I work at the university and I will be right back there Monday morning. good gravy.

Yesterday was HORRIBLE. I got up and ate something, but then I had this horrible stomachache, and it didn't go away. By yesterday night my whole body hurt. I couldn't even put my hands under running without at least wincing water it hurt so bad. I went to bed and cried cause it just hurt to lay there. . .It SUCKED. Today my stomach still hurts and more stuff that is kinda unmentionable. I am just grateful that I don't hurt like I did yesterday.

Winding Down

Yesterday I turned in my Senior Thesis. One of my bosses said that I should expand it a little more and submit it to the Utah Historical Quarterly. I think I will.

Today I turned in my internship.

I'M FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tomorrow is graduation. The sad thing about it is I am getting sick. I've abused my body by going to bed late and getting up early, I guess it is time to start taking care of it better since I am finished with school for the time being. I wish it were Friday night, then I would be able to SLEEP! SO TIRED . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I already miss my guitar class. I bought a new guitar, and a new (to me) used piano. I think I'm set for musical instruments for a while.

Allergies, cramps, & institute graduation

I wish I didn't have to go to graduation. . .I feel like crap thanks to allergies and nasty crampy period. . .tmi. BLEK!

Tuesday, April 08, 2008

Is it over yet?

I mean school. . .I am ready to be done, done, done, Done, DONE! The only thing I will miss is guitar this summer, and even then I think I might take lessons. One of my colleagues showed me her graduation announcement that Herff Jones screwed up. . .widow line, it looked nasty nasty nasty. So they are reprinting them for her, but still!

Things I have to do/get done before school ends.
1. Internship. . .I only have 14 hours LEFT!!!! YAY!!!!!!
2. Senior Thesis. . .3 weeks to finish it. . .well, patch it up. . .eek. WOW, relief and somewhat not.
3. Graduation Announcements. . .(super Steph is going to do them for a small fee. . .YAY. . .unique and not messed up announcements)

In other things:
Conference was AWESOME!!! I couldn't have had a better 2 days (I had to work on Saturday but since it is always dead I got to listen to it on the internet. SWEET)

I'm going to make it. . . I'm surprised since my first rough draft was due the last part of March, and it is mostly written. I managed to work on it FOREVER. . .I even stayed up one night until 4 and then made it to work on 4 hours of sleep. . .EEP. That was an interesting week, I just kept going and going and going.

Which brings us to now, and that I should be working since I am, shocker, at work. Hee hee. I am working on a new collection. . .Architectural drawings. They aren't that bad but there are TONS of them, but at least they aren't D.D.O.!

Monday, March 24, 2008

oh my goodness. . .I know I'm going to get sick

That is just how I feel. I am stressing and trying to write my Senior Thesis. . .eek. I have had writer's block all day and I have a class tonight and so it is going to be interesting. It will be fine I know but YIKES!!!

Friday, February 22, 2008

Graduation. . .its a scary thing.

Okay, so I turned in my application for graduation today. . . It went too smooth. . .way too smooth, I feel like something is going to go wrong and I will not be able to finish. EEK! I know it will be fine though. (It has to be right?)

Thursday, February 21, 2008

apparently it wasn't just me.

This morning was more normal than Tuesday, but still! It was fine, I got up and got ready for work and was finishing up what I had to do so I could leave. I literally sitting on the toilet when I felt shaking, and was like, um, this is weird. I thought it was just the blood pumping in my thighs cause some times I feel like it makes me shake. ( I know that didn't make ANY sense at all, so sorry but *I* know what I mean). I sat up right and grabbed the vanity, but, seriously. Apparently there was an earthquake in Nevada and I felt it.

Sometimes I go to work to relax. . .

Yeah, so, I'm EXTREMELY thankful to be alive right now. This morning has been CrAzY.

Last night wyoming girl and I sprayed our bathroom for ants, left the vent fan going, and shut the door to get the smell out. At about 4 am I got up because I thought that my fan was pulling in the odor from the bathroom. I shut my fan off, went to the bathroom, rinsed EVERYWHERE we sprayed to "try" and stop the smell. It didn't really work, and so I opened my window and willed my stomach to shut up because I wasn't going to get a snack when I had to get up at 6 anyway. I really wasn't feeling the greatest, but I had read the warnings on the can of bug killer and it didn't say anything about exposure so I figured we were fine. I did go to sleep thinking "I hope this doesn't kill any brain cells." I didn't sleep very well and hit snooze at 6 and then once again.

At 6:26 my alarm went off and I was going to get up when K came pounding up stairs to wake up wyoming girl. All I heard was get out and gas. I figured that since wyoming girl was parked in front of k that she had to move her car. Then K opened my door and told me to get up and out of the house because of a natural gas leak. It was loverly. She also called 911 INSIDE the house. . .we are lucky we didn't blow up! I'm glad that A smelled something strange and woke K up and k called our guy friend J* who didn't answer so she called her mom. K's mom freaked out and told her to get us all out. Thank goodness cause the neighbor smokes and if he had lit up. . . KABOOM! (*Just for the record J did call back because K is NEVER up that early so he figured something was wrong) Also I think we should point out that even though A was the last one out she was out in record time ;o)

The fire truck came and we stood outside for a while making phone calls and such until the fire woman said we should go some place warm. Village Inn it was. . . in A's car. . .I had yummy french toast with bananas and strawberries. A's boss called and asked when she could be in by. . .the latest the boss would wait was until 8:20, so A took wyoming girl back to the apartment to get her car so that we would have a ride home. Our food came shortly after they left. At least A got to take her's with her to work after eating some of it. I think A was having the hardest time with what was going on.

When we got back Qwest star cleared our apartment to be able to get into it, and K got her stuff and went to b-town. wyoming girl and Steph also gathered stuff to go to b-town. I got stuff so that I could take a shower at the gym and go to work.

While I was in the shower the qwest guy called and left a message that we could get back in and they would do a final walkthrough and turn things back on for us. So at about 9:30ish I went back and let one of the qwest guys in the house to turn on the gas and re-light the pilot lights. They were very helpful and nice. Our house is now safe and we will actually have hot water and all of those things tonight. YAY!!! It turns out that the neighbor's line had broken (his meter wasn't going). Our poor neighbor, when I went back they were moving wheelbarrels full of snow so that they could get to the problem. I figured I could be neighborly and see if they wanted me to make them any hot chocolate. They thanked me but declined because they prefer coffee. But one of them said you're a good neighbor.

Then I asked the qwest guys, the guy opperating this TINY back hoe said "Is the little lady buying?" replied "No, but I will make you some if you would like some." They also politely declined, but thanked me for my hospitality. I thanked them for taking care of the problem. They let me know that it was a pleasure and they were very happy that it had turned out this was, and that everything was in one piece one of them said "We like it when it turns out this way."

So probably about 10:30ish I made it to work. . .and am now "relaxing" trying to deal with a headache that is probably from being high on natural gas.

Prayers do work, even half-asleep mumbled ones at night!

Sunday, February 17, 2008

sometimes answers come that way.

I have been struggling lately with things, because I am so stressed about my last semester at school and all that I have to do including finishing an undergraduate research project, not to mention add the stress of needing to clean up my junk at the parent's house (that was one of the reasons I had to talk to mom).

The dance last night sucked for me. The decorations were beautiful and there were lots of people but I felt out of my element and it extended into today at church and even tonight into ward stare. I have been praying to know if I should move back to b-town since I have been attending the ward and that is where my pseudo-social life has been. It has been pseudo and now it is even more pseudo since I don't feel accepted. I feel like I need a change and that change is going to come in the form of attending a different ward in o-town where I can have a fresh start. I am going to go with the other roomies especially wyoming girl cause she is wonderful.

After ward stare I called wyoming girl and we talked about how I am struggling and what is going on in my life. She is amazing and I hope she realizes that. While I was talking to her I realized that I am suppose to stay in Ogden and that maybe I need to find a different ward near where I live so that I can have a social life and enjoy myself while I am living there. I also realized that maybe life is going kind of sucky for me because I didn't really ask the Lord if I should stay in the ward I'm in after the summer was over. I stayed because I didn't know where else I would go since all of the roommate drama hit the fan. I guess I did it to myself. Time to start listening to the spirit more often or more carefully for that matter.

So here I go, most likely to hop off into the next step I need to make. . .really finding out where I'm suppose to be.

3!! 3!?!?!!!

Yes, 3. I just went to the vending machine to get a snack. Sun Chips looked good, but the bag got stuck, so I chunked in 85 more cents and bought another bag, which pushed out the other bag but the top got stuck. Luckily. . .or maybe unluckily. . .the corner was in front of a bag of ruffles cheddar & sour cream potato chips. So now I have 3 bags of chips. . .and a slenderize fuse. My boss laughed.

hee hee. . .snack=3+1

Friday Free Day. . .

If you want my opinion, and I'm sure that it is many other people's too, campus should have been open Friday and closed today. Some of the sidewalks weren't cleaned from yesterday's snow which has left students walking on the road. DANGEROUS!!! It is crazy the amount of snow we received yesterday! I was hoping that class would be canceled today.

Speaking of yesterday. . .we drove to church in b-town from o-town. . .it was kind of scary at 8:40 in the morning. The roads weren't clear and all that junk. Lovely. We stopped at one light but a u-haul truck that was loaded came skidding past us in the left turn lane and went through the intersection. Thankfully no one was hit.

I think I'm allergic. . .

Sunday night I had to stop at a vending machine and get a soda to calm my stomach. Yesterday my wonderful roomies Kym and Jill ran to wally world to get me some fresca because again I felt like vomiting. Today at work, I was chewing on some sugar free gum and had to go steal an 8oz sprite from the fridge. The only thing I can think of that is common in all instances was that I had artificial sweeteners and then shortly after I have come out feeling ill. It is lovely. I wonder what else I am allergic to that I am eating. BOO!!! I'm not sure about this not being able to have sweets thing.

I also have a headache now because of sugar in the sprite I was drinking. "I LOVE LIFE!!," she typed dripping with sarcasm. GRRRR.

Tonight I start my swimming lessons, I am excited and apprehensive all at the same time. It has been a long time since I have had proper instructions on swimming and I am rusty when I try to swim. I guess I am looking for improvement so I can get the best out of my workout. It also forces me to work out since I have been a slacker since school started. I am also a little embarrassed because I have a lovely bruise on my upper thigh from human Foosball last Wednesday. Oh Well.

This week has been really weird

I guess I should add So far this week has been really weird.

I don't know what the deal is but bizarre would be a great word to describe it.

I refilled my depression medication last week. I took one of the new ones Monday night ( I switched to night so that I wouldn't run out the door in the Morning and forget to take it because I was in a hurry). When I took it on Monday I had a feeling that something was wrong with it. I couldn't pinpoint what, but it seemed like there was something. Yesterday while I was at work my mom called and was frantic because the pharmacy had called and left a message that there was something wrong with my medication that I just refilled. She freaked me out, so I told her to call them back and find out what was wrong. While she was doing that I was surfing the net to find out if there was a recall but I couldn't find anything. She called back and told me that some of the wrong dosages were put in the wrong packages. I took the new one on Monday because I was too lazy to find the other one that night. I have to go to the pharmacy tonight to get it checked.

My co-worker came in sick yesterday, and we sent her home, which meant I worked the evening because we are open later on Tuesdays. That didn't bother me. We did some flip-flopping of schedules and now I don't have to work Saturday. I hurried home and made some dinner and then went back to work. At work I got on MSN and found out that Heath Ledger died. It stunned me because he is my favorite actor. I had no desire to work at all. So here I am this morning still in the blahs. I kind of feel like, ok, what's going to happen next? I hate that attitude. I think Satan is trying to have a great grasp on me right now, because it isn't the end of the world.

*EDIT*
So my prescription was 10 mgs low. No wonder I felt like crap on a stick! I am feeling better too.

When I'm old. . .

It is a HUGE list of things that I am NOT going to do.

This is one of them.

I love my grandpa, but it never fails. Sundays after our hour and a half long dinner, right before dessert he pees in his depends. It isn't that he has a problem of knowing when he needs to go, it is sadly a thing of laziness. The other problem is that he doesn't get a lot of liquids during the day so I know that this is probably why it is even stronger smelling. SO about dessert time there is this HORRENDOUS urine smell, AT THE DINNER TABLE!!!! YUCKIE!!!!!!! SO when I eat my dessert I feel like I am eating in a very dirty, smelly public restroom. We had a very lovely chocolate cake and ice cream. On the first bite I was fine because I wasn't facing him when I was chewing, but on the second or third bite I got a whiff of it again and I almost lost my dinner. OH MY GOODNESS!!! By the end of dessert mom could smell it and she was not a happy camper. She sits at the other end of the small table, but she smelled it. That is a good 3-4ish feet.

When I am old I WILL NOT pee voluntarily in my depends because I am don't want to get up. Sitting in your own bodily waste all day is not my idea of fun. BARF!!!

Okay, I'm done here.

So, I think I want a hedgehog

Yes, that is right a hedgehog they are adorable little guys who usually bond well with their caretaker when young. They come in different sizes and there are USDA approved breeders here. YAY! Something that I might be able to have in the apartment. They can be litter box trained too. w00t! They aren't smelly little guys because they aren't rodents. So depending on everything and if I feel right about getting one I just might.

I have always thought they were adorably cute and would be fun to have. I have done some research and found lots of credible information, not to mention that there is an international hedgehog association. I would like a female. . .

Anybody got suggestions for names?

Snow CRAZY

Oh, MY GOODNESS!!!

Okay, so I was at work for 5 hours yesterday. Within that 5 hours it snowed AT LEAST 1 foot. Some kind men pushed my car out of the spot and got me on the road. At least one of them was a professor. Why the University waited until 2 to decide to close campus is WAY beyond me. I need snow tires and snow boots, not just the prissy-look-good-boots, but SNOW BOOTS. I don't want moon boots or old lady boots either. REAL snow boots, hello Smith & Edwards!!!!!

I have to go to b-town tonight. I am going to go snowboarding tomorrow. . .hopefully

So yeah, I'm boring as usual, and am going to post another boring entry but gosh dang it I'm posting.

I have the blahs once again. I can't believe that school will be starting on MONDAY. In a way I am happy and excited, because once it is over I'm DONE DONE DONE!!!!! Then I will only have to show up to work, something I have looked forward to for so many years.

I need a planner, but I remembered that I have this amazing thing called a palm pilot (it may be old but it SHOULD still work *crosses fingers and wishes and hopes ever so much*) that is FREE, because I have it and don't have to buy it. I may have to purchase an adapter kit for my computer, but I think that may be it. For about $20 I have a planner that I don't have to update every year. Sounds good to me. The only problem is that it is in b-town and I am in o-town. There is enrichment tonight

HA HA HA!

You Are the Middle Finger

A bit fragile and dependent on your friends, you're not nearly as hostile as you seem.
You are balanced, easy to get along with, and quite serious.
However, you can get angry and fed up with those around you. And you aren't afraid to show it!

You get along well with: The Index Finger

Stay away from: The Pinky

Say what?

Yeah, I don't know. I want to post but, you know life is boring. School is done and I'm just working and running around. Nothing spectacular. I have had a big fibromyalgia flare up and it SUCKS. I am determined to make it stop, but I don't know how. Unfortunately it is my hands that hurt right now. Double sucky since I do a lot with my hands at work and such.

I want to hit the slopes also , but my room needs cleaning before I do that cause snow gear is under my bed in a tote that I can't get at with a messy floor. I am SOOOOOOO tired too. Not fun. I think the end of school hit me hard health wise.

I also just want to cuddle with someone and not think about the rest of the world. Hmm, how nice would that be. Did I mention that I feel like crying? I just want to be held and for once not have to be the person worrying about me. I want to worry about someone else, I want to care about someone else. I think that this is why I want a dog so bad.

At least I don't have to worry about a dress for the dance, make it do or do without. . .

The Dress Saga. . .the end?

Ok, so amid the end of school, I went dress shopping for our ward Christmas Dance (which is an optional formal event) and fell in love with a dress. The store owner/manager said they could order one in my size, which ROCKED. It was beautiful, and I wanted it SO bad since the only other formal dress I have ever had was a choir formal. I was a beautiful vintage iradescent green with gold embroidery and beading. B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!!! They said that they would order it in (in my size) so I paid for it upfront with the stipulation that if it didn't fit I would get my month's rent worth of money back. I was called Thursday night and told that it was in, but that they didn't have it in a 20 so they ordered it in an 18 (which is the size that I had tried on in the store). GAH! Needless to say I was ticked. They should have checked before I even ordered and paid for it. It didn't fit. Blarg. I do have to say that it was a misses 18 and not a women's (thank goodness).

Last night right before bed I was thinking of what I am going to do for a formal. Then what my mom said popped into mind. I have a choir formal that we could remake. I have been complimented on it and the color is good. I am going to get some sheer black and make it preety. Yes, Preety. I will get some beads and remake that suckah beautifully. It will be great.I have a few ideas, but I don't want to spoil it and I don't want the other roomies to know that it was one of my choir dresses. It is just a dress that I didn't remember that I had that I added stuff to. Make it do or do with out! (I'm hoping that my mom is right and that she still has the dress hanging in the closet!)

In other news, all of my finals are done. All I have left is an assignment due thursday and to finish my internship (over the break).

Francie Pants and homework

I should be doing my homework, seeing as how I don't have a class right now but I have needed to blog for a while and Francie Pants is REALLY LOUD next door, like I can hear him above my music. Not a good study situation!!! I am also considering laying down under my desk and taking a nap with skull candy. That is sounding better by the minute! Goll-dang!

I can't wait for this semester to be OVER!

Its been one of those days

And it is only 12:27!
Last night I took a break. . . a needed break. I didn't do my homework or anything that needed doing, instead I played with clay some good old me time. I needed that. I think I want to bring my wheel back so that I can play more often it was a release. This morning I didn't make it to work at 8 and the boss said that was fine. As I was driving to class I had this feeling that I shouldn't go to class. Good thing, it wasn't five minutes later that I was crying in my car talking to mom. I hadn't hit my wall yet, and I think I did today. . .and PMSing. I'm still a little teary eyed, but so much better. Things will get better, I know they will, but right now life is work and school, with hardly any play. I am debating whether I want to work all day Friday and Saturday to make up for the San Francisco trip. I don't know, right now, not really, might as well burn a day of vacation right? I will be so RELIEVED when the semester is over and I can breathe.

Happiness

I am so happy, I got home about 20 minutes ago from my parent's house since I stayed over night after the date. Things seem to be going in the right direction (well, I feel like they are) and for once I feel really good about everything. It is a nice feeling, unfortunately it will not always stay that way since we can't be happy 24-7-365. Unfortunately I am rather tired and don't really want to do my homework. I would rather be sleeping. . .or typing as the case may be.

Here is a quick run-down on my date

It was wonderful, he was prompt, if not early, which I like. He was a gentleman and opened all the doors for me. We went to the Javier's on 12th. I think it is the best one since the food came super fast, they gave us the chips and probably five to ten minutes after that our food came. SWEET. It was busy but not noisy (they have carpet on the floors and a lower ceiling than the one on Harrison). I don't know if I'm the only one that this happens to but, usually when I go on dates it feels rather awkward, this one wasn't it felt kind of weird, but nice since we slipped into conversation easily. He doesn't like to make decisions, it is funny cause I hate doing it all the time, so after dinner I said you get to choose what we do next and gave him some options on what to do next. We went to mom and dads house and made super yummy brownies and watched Cars (he had never seen it). It was fun cause we got to bake together it is fun to see how people act in the kitchen. It seemed like he felt comfortable there and he really liked the brownies and he LOVES dark chocolate!!! My parents came home at the end of the movie and so he met them, and he and dad talked work for a few minutes. He didn't seem uncomfortable then either. I sent some brownies home with him too. Before he left he said "We should do this again, I had fun." I agreed. I am somehow going to put the ball into his court and try to get him to take the initiative. Sometime during the night he said that he was painting his house. I really wanted to offer to help, I think it would be fun. I think I will since I like service.

I think there is potential there, only time will tell.

Happy Century!

Yeah, I FINALLY reached 100 posts. To celebrate I am going to. . .I don't know so here is what happened today.

Got up LATE. A late night killed me and I have a STUPENDOUS headache. I managed to do homework before class. . .it was wonderful. . .I needed to. I can't believe how blessed I have been lately. I was afraid that I would not be able to do everything I need to when I took on my new job. I have tried to keep the Sabbath day Holy and pay my tithing and do everything I can to make it so that the Lord has to bless me. I guess it works.

I just chopped off my hair. I am so happy. The girl who did styled it put too much product in it, I'm not one of those type of hair doers. I have to wait until morning, after I've styled it myself to see how it does. It is entirely too poofy right now. She said that I had the healthiest hair that she has seen in a really long time. It made me feel good. She also has the type of hair that I have and so she gave me some styling tips.

I have a date tomorrow. I asked, I was tired of sitting around on Friday nights. I have no clue what we are going to do other than go to Javier's. YUMMIE!! We could come to the apartment and watch a movie. I don't know. I just got off the phone with him and he is excited and so am I.

My goal is to be asleep in bed by 9:30 or earlier tonight.

Snowboard

I am thinking about selling my board. . .
I am kind of afraid to get back on it. . .
I don't want to be paralyzed. . .
I love the sport so much it hurts to think about selling it.
I don't know.
Stumpy sort of kind of does. . .

Okay, other things I have yet to blog about.
I start my "new" job on Monday. I don't know, it is going to be difficult taking 10 more hours from my schedule to work. At least they love me and I can do homework if I have to. I do get a pay increase, and benefits, retirement options, work space, keys, to be on library committees and more responsibility. 8:00 mornings, blarg.
I am getting senioritis really bad, I just want out of school. I want some play time. A social life might also help.

For the second time I have asked a boy out and have been turned down because they had prior commitments. It SUCKS. I am going out on a limb to ask and I feel like it is breaking on me and I plummet to the ground and go splat. Some days this is why I want to be a pile on my bed FOREVER then I wouldn't have to talk to them.

I went to the temple yesterday and had a really nice time. I didn't expect to spend 4 hours there but I did initiatories and then a session. It was great. I feel so calm and at peace. I was inspired to read some things that I had been given at the end of my mission. It was from some previous APs.

My Sister

Is the AWESOMEST EVER!!! Instead of doing what she needed or wanted she spent about 3 hours helping me in my struggling room. It looks ten times better and I feel like I can get the upper hand on it tonight. THANK YOU CC!!!!

4:35 am promptings

This morning I woke up with a start and the thought that I needed to go all the way down stairs and stop the dryer which had my clothes in it. I tried to push it away but it kept coming. I grabbed my flash light and my robe and headed down to the "dungeon." The dryer was still running so I turned it off. As I was leaving I noticed that roomie A's bedside light was still on, so I thought to be nice and to save energy I would turn it off for her. I sneaked into her room to turn it off. Unfortunately it was a lamp that has the push button that goes all the way through the lamp, and it was louder than I thought it would be. I was hoping that she is a heavy sleeper but she obviously isn't. The click it made scared her. She mumbled thanks, after I told her that her light was on. I feel so bad. She probably thinks that I was snooping. . . I wasn't. When I got back up to my room I said a little prayer that she would fall back to sleep quickly if she hadn't already. I feel so bad about that. Bad enough that it took me a while to fall back a sleep.

Public Once Again

I figured that after the little fiasco a while ago, and that the roomies have changed, I will go back to public. Welcome ALL!

I also resolve to only put positive things in (about others).

ten days ago my future job was posted and yesterday i finally finished applying. it has been interesting to see who has tried and wanted to apply. one of my colleagues even visited with my boss to ask if they would consider him with education in place of experience. i have realized that you really do have to have an 'in' in my line of work. i guess i have been pretty blessed.

This week has been. . .

Long, short, late, scary, great, spiritual, tiring. You name it I've probably experienced the feeling this week. I am greatful that I made it through, with help of course. I couldn't have made it with out the Lord!

Monday we had a fire drill in the library. It was just a practice, nice excuse to get out of the building and be in the sun. I got to see a guy I went to high school with. We talked while we waited to hear when it was "safe" to go back in. We keep running into each other at the institute. I saw him again on Wednesday. Wednesday morning I told myself that if I saw him I would ask him if he would like to do something. I saw him but I chickened out, then I chewed myself out that I didn't do it. I was all excited and everything. Dumb, dumb, dumb, DUMB!!!

I also wrote a paper on Monday in the car, on the way to Ikea. . .the HAPPIEST place on earth. I bought a string of l.e.d. star lights (Christmas). . .SO CUTE. I hung them above my bed. I don't know what I did on Tuesday, but it wasn't homework. . .oh yeah, I went to wally world with roomie J. Spent more money than I should have, but I will use all that I bought. I have to reign in on the spending though.

Wednesday, I went to Brigham, and did homework. I only went because I needed to get some papers from certain people for the ward history. Then I had to do homework. I thought it would take me a short time. My fault I know, I had the assignment for 2 weeks. I will do better on the next one. I stayed up well past midnight to get it done. Thursday I rolled out of bed to make it to my class at 10. It was canceled. Didn't follow the spirit to check my e-mail. Turned around and went home and slept until 12:30ish. Ate grilled cheese for lunch and then went to my 1:00 class, the one the assignment was for, sat through an extremely boring lecture and went home. Boss lady said I didn't have to come in. YAY!! Didn't get in bed early either. I intended to but didn't happen. I did start applying for my job that FINALLY got posted yesterday.

Skipped my institute class, this morning. rolled out of bed at 8:00. Got to work at 9:10 with five minutes to spare. I get to stay here ALL DAY- Everyone else is at CIMA at the BYZoo. That's ok, when I got into my car Billy Joel was in my CD player and it was good. Now I'm listening to it because sometimes its a Billy day. Did I mention that I started PMSing on Wednesday night?

I feel like I have been running ragged and late for everything. This morning I showered and blow dried my hair just a tiny bit then put on a headband. Brought my breakfast and lunch to work. Yummy cereal and frozen berries. . .

Public or Private?

I have been going back and forth of weather I should go public or stay private with my blog. I think for the time being it'll stay private.

I should start a new post named not soon enough, but I'm lazy.

I have a friend getting married tomorrow, and I talked to her today. She is, I really don't know. She has gotten flaky, but that is usually what happens to engaged girls. I WILL NOT BE ONE OF THEM!! That is my vow. But anyway, she got a bunch of things mixed up and I had to straighten her out. It was funny. I really don't envy her. She had wanted me to be her maid of honor, but I am glad that she asked someone else, I don't want to be in charge of anything at the wedding. I have gotten to thinking and now I REALLY think it would suck to be a brides maid or a maid of honor for a friend, a family member wouldn't be as bad though. I would feel out of place I think, in a friend's line.

Bed Time!!!
